Mermaid Shaker Card | Lawn Fawn

Happy Friday! Last day of school for my youngest! Yippee! We have a lot of things going on this summer and now that the boys are all off, I hope there will be fun all around!

I have a summer fun shaker card to share with you today as well as a how-to video tutorial. I used the new(ish) Mermaid for you set from Lawn Fawn. I just love this set! I knew right away that I wanted to create a shaker card and just fill the frame with mermaids and their swimming companions. The set has everything that you need from cute critters, mermaids (and merboys), fish, coral, seaweed and bubbles!

I decided to be brave and open up my brand new Kuretake Gansai Tambi pallette. I was thrilled with how the colors work with water and how gorgeously pigmented and opaque they are! I am going to have FUN with this palette for sure.

What I didn’t share in the video and what I did to hide the foam edges on the card, was to adhere a thin piece of ribbon around the whole perimeter of the top of the card. I think it really finishes it off nicely.

I had fun with choosing different hair and top color combos for the mermaids. I did keep the skin and tail colors exactly the same so they look unified.

Just love how bright and fun all these colors are! Sigh! Love summer themed cards.
